BOARD TITLE: Volunteer Coordinator

CURRENT CITY: Gray, ME

HISTORY WITH HONOR FLIGHT MAINE: My father went on an honor flight at the age of 90 with one of my brothers as a guardian in October 2023. I attended the send off and welcome home ceremonies. My entire family was so impressed with everything that I started volunteering. In the fall of 2025, I started training for my board role and was officially elected in February 2026.

WHY AM I PASSIONATE ABOUT HONOR FLIGHT MAINE:

My father served in the military for 42 years before retiring. Both of my grandfathers and all of my uncles served in the military as well as several of my cousins. I was raised to have and show respect to veterans who served and still serve our country. My father often reminded my siblings and I that freedom is not free.

FAVORITE HONOR FLIGHT MAINE MEMORIES:

Seeing my father wave from his wheelchair in the welcome home parade and then insisting on standing during the National Anthem while so exhausted that my brother had to hold him up is forever etched in my mind. It’s my motivation and the “why” behind my wanting to serve the organization and veterans.
